Rec Connect – Bee House Workshop

RSL Rec Connect – Meet, move and make for a more connected life!

RSL Rec Connect helps veterans and their families connect through a diverse calendar of recreational events. RSL Rec Connect events are held throughout the year in various locations across Queensland. ADF veterans, current serving Defence members, partners and children are welcome to this event.

Join us for a relaxed and creative morning building your very own native bee house.

This beginner‑friendly workshop is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Australia’s incredible native bees, their role in our environment, and how easy it is to support them at home. You’ll be guided step‑by‑step as you construct a bee house to take home, using simple materials and tools. It’s also a chance to connect socially with other members of the Defence community.

Event highlights 

• Make your own bee house or make one in your family group.  
• Learn which materials and techniques attract native bees.  
• All equipment is supplied. 

Requirements:

• Open to ADF veterans, current serving Defence members, partners and children. Children must be attending with a supervising adult.

Cost: Free

Please note that prior to the event, you will be required to complete an RSL QLD waiver. All attendees will be unable to participate without completing the waiver.
